The site has an impressive Acropolis, this massive complex ranks amongst the largest architectural structure of Mesoamerica. The complex comprises diverse structures like palaces, temples, sculptures, coutyards and terraces, built on seven levels. Some of the most important are: a ball game, the Palace of the Underworld, The Palace or House of Fireflies home of the ruler, the Mural of the Fourth Era representing the Mayan cosmogony and the Temple of the Monster of the Earth represents a creature with open jaws devouring a solar sphere.
In recent times a stone sarcophagus from the years 840-900 AD was discovered. with skeletal remains and offerings similar to those of the Red Queen of Palenque.
