Its origins date back to the Preclassic era, 250 B.C.
It has an area of approximately 30 square kilometers.
Must see Buildings
It is one of the most monumental sites in southern Quintana Roo. It has exceptionally massive structures, up to 46 meters high, Ichkabal is one of the great political centers of the region since very early times.
The site integrates six architectural groups and four gouaches.
The Main Group is composed of three large bases and a group of other structures, all placed in each of the corners of the large plaza.

Location
It is located to the west of the Laguna de Bacalar and not far from the archaeological zone of Dzibanché.
