It is located 3 km southeast of the town of Xochipala, in the mountainous and semi-arid region of the center of the state of Guerrero.

It is arranged on seven levels and scatered around the levels are six courtyards and numerous structures. The site was inhabited mainly between 650 and 900/1000 A.D. and this is the best known area of the Mezcala culture.

Must see Buildings

The Ball Game and the Central Plaza are the most important structures in the site. In the Plaza is the Palacio Blanco (White Palace) one of the most unique buildings in the area.

The site is famous for way the inhabitants worked with jade and jadeite, making splendid figures of animals and masks, many of them used in their rituals.

Location

It is located on the shores of the Sierra Madre del Sur in the center of Guerrero, approximately an hour and a quarter from Chilpancingo and two hours from Taxco.

Monday to Sunday, from 10:00 am to 17:00 hrs.
