Its Mayan name means "Painted Vault".
The first evidence of human occupation dates back to 500 and 50 B.C., and the peak of this site was during the Late Classic period between 600 to 800 A.D.
Must see Buildings
The most important building on the site is the Temple-Palace, a platform 76 meters long and 30 meters wide on which three Bec River-style towers were built. Only one tower remeins in the east side.
Other important buildings in the site are: the Great Acropolis with a sauna, The Puuc Patio, the Northeast Temple, the Southwest Temple, the North Platform, the West Building, and the South Worship site.
There were also traces of paint that show hieroglyphs and some of the most important Mayan Gods.

Location
It is located 150 km from the city of Campeche, taking Federal Highway No. 262 to the town of Dzibalchén and after approximately 20 km you reach Vicente Guerrero and attach the archaeological zone.
