The chronology indicates that the foundation of Huijazoo dates from 1450 B.C, and it was abandonment in 300 A.D.
The site was an important political and commercial center of the western part of the Etla Valley during the Classic period (250 - 800 A.D.).
Must see Buildings
Huijazoo, like Monte Albán, is built on a hill.
The archaeological site has temples, palaces, ball games, plazas, shrines and tombs.
In the highest part of the terrain there are three large platforms, two of them align with the west-east orientation.

Location
It is located at the north end of the Etla Valley on Cerro de la Campana in Santiago Suchilquitongo, 27 kilometers northwest of the City of Oaxaca, along Federal Highway 190.
