When the subway was built in the sixties, a ceremonial center was found.

This discovery occurred on José María Izazaga street, in what would later become the cross-line between lines 1 and 2 of the Pino Suárez Station.

It is presumed that this site was used as an access corridor from Iztapalapa to Tenochtitlán and currently only one of the approximately 12 original shrines can be seen.

This square-based construction with a small upper circular shrine dedicated to one of the most important deities of the Mexican pantheon: Ehécatl-Quetzalcóatl, god of the wind.

Location

It is located at the Pino Suárez subway station.
