It is a museum built in the archeological zone of with a contemporary design, inspired by a ceremonial mound of Paquimé.
It has a circular design, large interior courtyards, large Windows, the construction blends with the desert landscape. The museum has three rooms:
The first shows the ancient times of the settlement (30,000 B.C. to 100 A.D.). The exhibits includes various objects related to hunting and gathering, as well as fossils of large mammals. In the Desert Courtyard there is a representation of the first sotol distillers, a regional spirit.
The second room exhibits the daily life of Paquimé with a number of clay objects and ceramics, as well as jewelry and other objects related to the typical offerings.
The third room is realted of the arrival of the Spaniards, and by that time the site has already been abandoned. There is a video room with projections of regional history. There is also a model of the San Antonio de Padua mission located near Casas Grandes.
On the second level of the museum there is a large viewpoint where you have an excellent view of all Paquimé archaeological site.
