The most important phase of Yucuita as an urban center was between 500 B.C to 300 A.D.
The pre-Hispanic sequence and events place the presence of man in these valleys from approximately 1400 B.C. in the Early Cross phase of the lower Preclassic.
Must see Buildings
The occupation extended from the southern end of the hill to the north slope of the hill, it was a small town with residences of various sizes and large ceremonial civic buildings.
There are two groups of large buildings: one is a residential complex. It is located on the top of the hill on the north side of the road, its main structure is a rectangular platform.
The other complex is a group of civic-ceremonial buildings, located on the side of the road. The platform includes a 70 m. long – 4 m high wall. Beside the great wall is a narrow tunnel, approximately 60 meters long used as a drainage and as a corridor.

It is located 86 kilometers northwest of the City of Oaxaca by the 131-D superhighway.
