Mexican crafts, a world of color
Mexico has one of the most interesting and complex cultural heritages in the world. The peoples who inhabited their lands before the Spanish conquest developed magnificent civilizations that loved the sciences and the arts and everything was infuenced by its fascinating cosmogony. With the arrival of the Spaniards many of these traditions and techniques of elaboration of artisan pieces were enriched with the contributions that were brought from the old continent.
Many of the artisan pieces have a long history, the way in which they are made has passed from generation to generation, some from pre-Hispanic times and others from the colonial era.
The skill and creativity of each of the artisans is reflected in their creations, and throughout the country there are hundreds of options in terms of materials, techniques, use and styles.
