There is little archaeological evidence of the past glories of El Cedral since most of the temple was destroyed by the conquerors.

This is the oldest Mayan construction in Cozumel and there are few remains of the original painting on the walls.

In this small town, the El Cedral Fair is held at the end of April-beginning of May, an ancient tradition that dates back to 1848.

This festivity is held to celebrate the arrival of one of the first settlers on the island, while fleeing from the Caste War.

Location

It is located on San Francisco Beach south of Cozumel Island.
