This site is related with the Trenches Tradition.

Its name derives from the presence of several large blocks of volcanic tuff that reach ten meters high.

On the flat top of the blocks, there are grooves and holes of about 5 to 25 cm deep and with a diameter of between 20 and 40 cm, forming hundreds of circles and squares of 1 to 2 meters in diameter.

The purpose of these formations is still unclear to scholars, maybe this carvings were made with astronomical or religious purpuses.

Location

It is located east of Magdalena de Kino, 90 km northwest to the hill of Trincheras, in the lands of the ejido El Sásabe.
