The site is surrounded by a lush jungle.

It is located in the south of the state in the Petén region.

Must see Buildings

The site is made up of three architectural groups dating from the Classic (250-1000 A.D.) and has kept some relevant monuments. In one of them you can distinguish the emblem glyph of Calakmul.

The main groups are: Grupo Ah Kin, Grupo Chi ’ik and Grupo Bec with two plazas, ten buildings, a ball court. The most notorious features are the numerous steles found inside the structures.

Location

It is located in the northern part of the Petén region, south of the state of Campeche. Take Highway No. 96 that goes from Escárcega to Chetumal and at km 95 you take a gap for approximately 18 km until you reach the archaeological site.
