It is located in the Plaza de las Tres Culturas and its name means "moud of sand" in Nahuatl.
Tlatelolco was famous for its market, the largest one in Mesoamerica, offering goods from all over the empire.
Even Hernan Corts wrote a description of the market site narrating the vast selection or wares traded at the open-air market, as well as the organizational structure.
Must see Buildings
Although it was a twin city of Teotihuacán, currently we can only see a few ruins of altars, palaces and temples, like the Templo Calendarico (Calendar Temple) and the Templo Mayor (Major Temple) the later resemblance the Great Temple of Tenochtitlán. Tlatelolco, with the capture of King Cuauhtemoc, was the last bastion of the Aztec empire.

There is an on-site museum showcasting the artifacts found in the archaeological site. Stunning architecturally has a dramática backdrop of the Plaza of the Three Cultures, it is because you can watch the pre-Colombian ceremenio center, a veceregal church and the modern constructions.
