Its name means "Built around tropical forests, pastures, savannas, gouges and swamps."
According to archaeological evidence, its peak was between 600 and 800 AD, within the period known as Late Classic.
Must see Buildings
The settlement concentrates a large number of buildings of all types and sizes. In the Southern Group there is Structure II, the most important of the site. In the Central Group there is Structure V and VI. Some of them are decorated with impressive masks of the God Chaac.

Location
It is located in the Calakmul Biosphere Reserve, 24 km from Xpuhil and 8 km from the Echeverría Castellot ejido.
