This area is also known as "La Pila del Rey", "Chacalán", or "El Santuario" (the Sancturary).
Located near Chacala a coastal town within Riviera Nayarit. The area was inhabited by a group that belonged to the Tecoxquin culture and even today the area is still an important religious center for Huicholes, who attend here to perform ceremonies and leave offerings, so if you visit we advise you to be respectful and help to the preservation of the place.
Must see Buildings
It has 56 petroglyphs engraved in volcanic rocks that are located along the Las Piletas stream and although its age has not been determined, it is estimated that they are more than two thousand years old.
Location
It is located in the coastal town of Chacala in the municipality of Compostela, approximately half an hour from Rincón de Guayabitos.
