This is the largest archaeological site in Cancun.
It dates back to the year 300 A. D. and was occupied until 1550. Its heyday was from the Middle Preclassic to the Late Postclassic (1200-1550).
Must see Buildings
One of the most notable features of this site is the careful design of an avenue. It runs from north to south of the complex, lined with residential buildings on platforms.
There are 47 structures, in the southern sector there are masonry buildings, and in the north, are solely platforms with wood and palm houses on top.
It is worth mentioning, that the platforms of the northern avenue are aligned with the pyramid of the nearby site of San Miguelito, that is why it suggests both vestiges were part of the same settlement that extended up to three kilometers on the Island of Cancun.
The site is related to astronomical practices.
