It was occupied since 1300 A.D. until the arrival of the Spaniards.

The site served as the head of one of the most important Popoloc kingdom.

Tepexi was occupied by the Mexica at the beginning of the 16th century, although they did not have any cultural influence, since the pieces and buildings continued to be typically Popolocan.

Must see Buildings

There is a walled fortress located in the upper part of a low hill, in the middle of two deep ravines (140 meters high). The wall surrounds the exposed archaeological structures, including some plazas and ceremonial mounds.

Location

It is located 8 km west of Tepexi de Rodríguez, two hours from Tehucacán and two and a half hours from the city of Puebla.
