This settlement was founded around 1250 AD, at the fall of El Tajin.

This site had an important position in the area until they were conquered by the Aztecs in 1450.

That is why in its buildings you can see a fusion of different cultures such as the Totonac, Mexica and Huasteca.

 

Must see Buildings

The site comprises 30 ha with scattered buildings like a military fortress and a ceremonial center, as well as terraces, stairways and ball games. The most important buildings are the South Building with three bodies and on its top it had a huge two-meter monolith where you can clearly see the Aztec influence.

Other structures are: Building II, IV and V and some altars. The Ball Game court is located a apart from the rest of the buildings and measures 72 meters long by 4 meters wide.

It is located in the Tecolutla Valley, 45 minutes southeast of Tajín and 33 km, approximately one hour from Papantla.
