It was originally under Tlahuica control and later taken over by Aztec imperial forces.

The site was occupied between 1200 and 1521 during the Late Postclassic period.

Must see Buildings

The ceremonial plaza has two twin temples similar to those of Tenochtitlan dedicated to the deities of rain and war, Tláloc and Huitzilopochtli, respectively, it is believed to have served as a model for the Great Temple of Tenochtitlán.

There are also two minor temples, one with a circular design dedicated to Ehécatl (God of the Wind), and the other attributed to god Tezcatlipoca; near the later is a small stone altar possibly utilized for human sacrifice rituals.
