It was an important ceremonial center.
The site reached its peak between 600 and 900 A.D. It is perched upon a small mesa surrounded by canyons.
Must see Buildings
There are seven pyramid structures across four complexes, but the most notorious are the House of Thirteen Skies, with its sunken patio and the largest pyramid basement of the site; and the House of the Longest Night, related to the winter solstice.

Location
It is located 15 miles southwest of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. To get there, take the San Miguel de Allende - Guanajuato Highway and turn off at Km. 9.5.
