The cave paintings date back to the Neolithic era, with an age of at least 3,000 years.

In the community of Chavaxtla, near Huatusco and the High Mountains region, there are more than 16 caves.

One of the most representative figures of these caves is a rustic drawing of a bird man, which according to specialists, has similarities with another found in Egypt.

You can also visit the community museum.

It is located 45 minutes from Huatusco and two hours from Xalapa.
