This settlement was founded more than 19 centuries ago among abundant salt deposits.
It was occupied continuously from the year 450 A.D. until the arrival of the Spaniards in 1521, first by Otomies and finally by the Mexicas. Its peak was from the Early Classic until the Late Postclassic (750-900 A.D.).
Must see Buildings
The structures in the site includes: the Ballgame, Structures 6, 7 & 8, the Sunken Courtyard and the Basement 3.
Other important structures are: Mound One, where a large number of human remains were discovered accompanied by rich offerings and Mound Two, with a room that was named Sculpture Site was found, inside there were basalt and green stone figurines.

It is located 79 km, approximately two hours from Valle de Bravo and 117 km, approximately two and a half hours from Toluca in the south of the State of Mexico.
