It was an important ceremonial center of the Valley of Mexico, mentioned in the Xólotl Codex.
The first settlement dates back to the year 900 A.D. and its peak was in the Late Classic to Late Postclassic (1200 to 1521 A.D.). It was occupied until the arrival of the Spaniards.
The pre-Hispanic name was Tlazallan-Tlallanoztoc and the actual name comes from Hacienda Acozac located near the site. The area was part of the Acolhuacan.
Must see Buildings
Some of the most important structures in the site are: The Circular Temple dedicated to the worship of Ehécatl, God of the Wind; and The Palace, with several rooms and courtyards. Next to the Palace, there are three altars and in front there is a large plaza with an altar in the center.

Location
To get there you have to take the Mexico-Puebla Federal Highway and at km 30 turn left and at then take left in Alcanfores street. At the intersection with Moctezuma street, turn right and continue to Tláloc Sur street.
