Scientists say fossils found in Rincon Colorado are from 70-million-year-old, from the Cretaceous period.
There are turtle and shark fossils, as well as some molluscs and bones of larger animals such as the tyrannosaurus rex.
Impressions of dinosaur skin, bones of other animals, a large number of mollusks, coprolites, seeds and petrified fruits have also been recovered.
Here was discovered the skeleton of Isauria, the first dinosaur collected and rebuilt in Mexico, which belongs to the family of the hadrosaurs duckbills.
In this archaeological zone there is a site museum with an interesting exhibit, including fragments of a dinosaur jaw, vertebrae of a duck beak, an Edmontosaurus skull, shark teeth, and many other pieces. In addition, there is an area considered a paleontological reserve.
Location
It is located 35 kilometers northeast of the city of Saltillo in a region known as Valle de los Dinosauros for the amount of fossils that have been found here.
