WHAT TO EAT IN TODOS SANTOS

In this Magical town you can enjoy a great gastronomic experience with a great variety of dishes.

The the typical food of the region is a fusion between the tastes of the Jesuits and Franciscans, and international dishes, which gives variety and freshness to the gastronomic offer.

This is an oasis in the middle of the desert with a subtropical climate resulting in fresh and many ingredients such as citrus fruits, papaya, chile, sugar cane and avocado, among others.

In Todos Santos you will find the "farm-to-table" concept, where the dishes are created from produce grown in the restaurants' gardens. Beside, there are several organic farms that provide all kinds of ingredients and also, due to its proximity to the sea, its fish and shellfish are also very fresh.

Date and Walnut Sweet Recipe

Ingredients:

  • ½ kg of chopped dates
  • ¼ kg of chopped walnut
  • ½ cup of white corn syrup
  • ½ cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla essence
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt

Directions:

Mix milk, honey, sugar and salt and put on medium heat.

After 15 minutes, add the nuts and dates. Let boil until you can see the bottom of the pot when moving. Remove from the fire.

Add the butter and vanilla.

Pour into a baking tray with a waxed paper.

When cold cut into squares.
