WHAT TO EAT IN MÚZQUIZ
In Muzquiz you can savor carnes asadas a las brasas (grilled meats).
Other typical dishes are: carne seca (dried meat), ranchero beans, chorizo and cheeses.
One of the most iconic dishes are: the taco mascogo, which represents the communities that live in the region that have developed a whole gastronomic trend with dishes such as the borrego al ataúd (lamb in the coffin) made with butter, mustard, chili peppers, seasonings and vinegar, or the menudo blanco (white menudo) made with beef belly, oregano and white corn, or chicales (peasant dish of cooked dried corn).
You will also find delicious milk, brown sugar and walnut sweets.

Chicales Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 corn
- 2 garlic
- 1 onion
- 1 cascabel pepper
- 1 tomato
- salt to taste
Directions:
Cook the corn inside with the leaves in a pot with water.
When it is well cooked, dry the corn including the leaves, and place them on a wire, tying the corn with their own leaves.
The corn is left for days or until it is very dry and can be shelled.
Grind in a meat grinder and then shake to remove the skin.
Then put to boil in a pot with water adding the garlic and chili previously ground in the blender, then add the onion and tomato cut into squares.
Season with salt to taste and let it boil until integrated.
