Gastronomy and typical cuisine in Puerto Morelos
Pescadillas Recipe
Ingredients:
- 6 fish fillets
- ½ white onion finely
- 4 tomatoes, seeded and chopped
- 2 serrano chiles, shelled and chopped
- 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
- ½ kilo of corn tortillas
- 1 cup of mayonnaise
- 1 avocado
- 2 cups of pico de gallo (a chunkier salsa made from tomatoes, onion, cilantro, a spicy chile like jalapeño or serrano peppers)
- 4 lemons cut in half
- hot sauce to taste
- ½ liter of oil
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
Directions:
Cook the fish in boiling salted water for approximately 20 minutes and shred the fish.
Season the onion and then add the chili and tomato. Add the shredded fish and mix. Cook for 5 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper and add the coriander. Cook for 5 more minutes and let cool.
Heat the tortillas and fill with the fish and close the tacos with toothpicks.
Fry the tacos in hot oil until golden brown.
Serve and accompany with mayonnaise, avocado, pico de gallo, lemon and hot sauce to taste.
