WHAT TO EAT IN VALLE DE GUADALUPE
In Valle de Guadalupe you can enjoy exquisite nouvelle cuisine.
One of the trends in Valle de Guadalupe is the establishment of various gourmet restaurants where you can try exquisite nouvelle cuisine dishes accompanied, of course, by the best Valle de Guadalupe wines.
You can also try the country restaurants that offer outdoor seating amid incredible valley views.
Another of the trends in Valle de Guadalupe is to use organic cultivated products grown in their gardens, which makes the dishes full of colors and flavors.
Among the dishes that you can savor in this place are a mouthwatering arrachera (skirt steak), marinated chamorro prepared with beer, grilled tacos, lamb ribs, quail served on a bed of sweet potato puree, pork jowl salpicón, octopus with pork rinds , clam cream and the chicken breast stuffed with spinach and mushrooms. Each of these dishes will always have a unique touch given by the region's innovative chefs.
The combination of good products, creative dishes and excellent wines have made Valle de Guadalupe one of the favorite places for foodies from all over the world.
If you want to explore the region a bit, we recommend going to San Antonio Necua, very close to Guadalupe, within the Wine Route. This community is inhabited by Kumiai indigenous people with an important gastronomic tradition. Here you can try barbacoa (meats slow-roasted over an open fire), nopales salad, machaca with corn, carnitas, as well as coffee and atole de bellota.

Clam Chowder Recipe
Ingredients:
- ¼ chopped onion
- 2 pieces of celery
- 3 ½ cups of water
- 1 can of evaporated milk
- 4 pieces of peasant type bread
- 2 potatoes cut into cubes
- 1 kg of clams, washed and boiled
- 4 tablespoons of dried parsley
- 3 slices of bacon, chopped
- 1 cube of chicken broth
- ½ teaspoon of salt
Directions:
Fry the bacon in a saucepan and once golden add the onion, celery and potatoes.
Cook until the potatoes are lightly golden. Add the chicken broth and water. Cover and simmer until potatoes are soft. Blend all the ingredients and reserve.
Cook the clams by placing them in a saucepan with 1 ½ cups of water. Cover the saucepan and cook over low heat until they open. Discard those that remained closed.
Remove the clams from their shells and blend them with 1 cup of the water in which they were boiled. Add to this mixture the bacon broth, celery and potatoes. Put a can of evaporated milk and move constantly to prevent it from sticking.
Cut the bread and remove the crumb. Spray the inside of each loaf with cooking spray and bake for 5 minutes or until the loaves are lightly golden.
Pour the cream inside each bread and garnished with bacon and parsley, if desired.
