"THE BEAUTIFUL AIROSA" (WINDY CITY)
Pachuca is the capital of the state of Hidalgo and is located 94 kilometers away from Mexico City. Its name comes from the Nahuatl language, Pachoacan or Patlichiucan, which means "narrow place" or "place of government."
The climate in Pachuca is temperate-cold with summer rainfall. The average annual temperature is 15ºC. Winds are present for eight or nine months of the year, with maximum speeds of 60 to 65 kilometers per hour, hence the nickname "The Beautiful Airosa" by which the city is known.
Pachuca is an important mining center and has a vibrant commercial and cultural life. Its historic center features sloping streets and curious narrow alleys with old and beautiful mining buildings. This contrasts with the southern part of the city, where industrial growth and modernity have taken over. In other words, while it has maintained its peaceful provincial atmosphere, it boasts a modern infrastructure that can offer everything to its visitor
Strolling through the beautiful City of the Winds allows you to discover monuments of great historical value such as the Exconvento de San Francisco and unique museums such as the Mining Museum or the Photography Museum.
