Haciendas
In 1743, Pedro Romero de Terreros began the exploitation of the mines of Real del Monte. With its abundant production, three haciendas were built: San Antonio, San Miguel, and Santa María Regla. The latter two processed the minerals - gold and silver - extracted from the mines of Real del Monte, and they can be visited to admire their enormous walls that transport you to another era.
At Hacienda Santa María Regla, you can stay and enjoy its ecotourism park.
Another hacienda is San Juan Hueyapan, which was built in 1535 by Diego de la Paz, a nephew of Hernán Cortés. It is an incredible place surrounded by natural landscapes that still preserves its stables, barns, and a chapel.
