TOP SIGHTS IN ENSENADA
Bodegas Santo Tomas (Winery)
This building dates back to the early 20th century.
In 1913, General Francisco Vázquez, commander of the Baja California Military Zone, ordered the construction of a military barracks to house the troops of the 25th Infantry Regiment, located where the company "Bodegas de Santo Tomás" stands today.
The Santo Tomas wineries were founded by Francisco Andonaeguí and Miguel Ormat, who arrived in the city of Ensenada in 1882. In 1888, they purchased the vineyards and the small wine-making plant owned by Loreto Amador in Santo Tomás.

Cantina Hussong’s (Canteen)
This cantina was founded on June 14, 1892.
Its owners were Mr. Juan and Luisa Hussong, the city's first settlers.
It is the oldest and best-known cantina in the city, making it a unique experience to visit. It usually features live music ranging from mariachis to norteño or rock music.
If you can strike up a conversation with the bartender, they will likely be open to sharing stories, some of which are depicted in the photos, and suggesting the best drink combinations.

Cava de Marcelo (Cellar)
Continuing a four-generation family tradition, you can taste delicious artisanal cheese.
There are various cheeses available in different presentations, and you can pair them with a good wine on the Carretera a Ojos Negros.
Among the options to savor are fresh cheese with basil, with rosemary, with pepper, aged cheese, ricotta cheese, and a rich butter.
During your visit, you can also enjoy a guided tour to learn more about the cheese-making process.
There is a restaurant that offers fresh products from the garden in a pleasant countryside atmosphere.

Centro Cultural Riviera (Cultural Center)
This building was constructed in 1930.
Various details and furnishings from different parts of the world were used in its construction and decoration, including Persian carpets, Chinese screens, and Italian marble floors.
This former casino is believed to have been financed by Al Capone and managed by Jack Dempsey. It once hosted personalities such as Johnny Weissmuller, Myrna Loy, Lana Turner, Ali Khan, and Dolores del Río.
In the mid-20th century, it served as a military outpost and is considered an architectural example of Mediterranean style.
You can explore its beautiful gardens adorned with fountains, statues, and monuments that depict the history of Baja California, or visit the elegant Casino and Catedral salons.
This center remains a historic symbol of the city of Ensenada.

Artisanal Breweries
Baja California has become a hub for craft beer production.
Ensenada offers a wide range of options, such as Aguamala, which has received several international recognitions, and Marea Roja, which produces a reddish beer with notes of fruits like apple and peach. Both are located on the road leading to Ensenada.
Other options in El Sauzal in Ensenada include Webdkabdt Brewery, which produces an amber-colored beer with a fruity aroma and another with a coffee flavor, and Costa Azul, known for its drinks made with fresh hops.
Some of the highly recommended ones include Aguamala, Margherita Gastro Pub, Cervecería Doble C, Wndlandt Tasting Room El Sauzal, and Cervecería Transpeninsular, among others.
Parroquia del Purísimo Corazón de María (Parish)
The cornerstone was laid on October 3, 1897.
The land was donated by the political and military leader Colonel Agustín Sanguines.
It is a construction that seems like an island amidst the modernity of Ensenada.
The inscription on the main door stands out, reading the Latin phrase "Haec Est Domus Dei et Porta Coeli," which means "This is the house of God and the gate of heaven."

El Mirador (Viewpoint)
One of the most extraordinary viewpoints where you can enjoy a unique landscape.
From here, you can see both the Ensenada Bay and Todos Santos Island.
You can take short walks along the cliffs and capture incredible photographs of the scenery.
Parque Revolución
It was formerly known as Porfirio Díaz Park.
This place still preserves part of its original furniture, such as iron benches with wooden profiles and early 20th-century lamp posts.
The original kiosk was lost and replaced with a modern one. It has been remodeled several times and also features playgrounds, restrooms, bridges, and walkways.
