• Plaza Cachanilla

The mall has department stores, shops with well-known brands and restaurants.

• Plaza Nuevo Mexicali

It is one of the best known shopping centers in Mexicali. It has a department store and several stores offering well-known brands, as well as a fast food area, movie theaters, and some restaurants.

Additionally, in the Valley of Mexicali, the Cucapá (a native cultural group) make precious objects based on shells, as well as belts, bags and necklaces made of chaquira (small beads of jade, turquoise or other minerals).

The artisans formerly used shell pieces and since 1852 they used Venetian or Czechoslovak glass, because the foreign merchants introduced these kind of products

In the Maneadero Valley, very close to Mexicali, some migrant Mixtec families make incomparable shawls (blankets) and huipiles (decorated blouses) with ancient waist looms.
