HUASCA DE OCAMPO

Hidalgo offers many options for mountain biking like Rancho Santa Elena, where you can ask about tour options to enjoy this sport with your family.
This place has instructor guides who give theoretical and practical courses on important points in cycling such as brakes, mountain climbs and descents, speed management and much more.
Sierra Verde
It is located in Huasca de Ocampo, there are several options for bike routes in the middle of the Bosque de los Duendes (Forest of the Goblins), so you can enjoy the landscapes in these mountainous areas.
Ruta Omitlán de Júarez – Peña del Aire
There is an interesting route that connects the town of Omitlán de Juárez with Peña del Aire, passing through the Magical Town of Huasca and the Basaltic Prisms. In the tour you will have the opportunity to enjoy the natural wonders including waterfalls and ravines.
One of the Ultra Trail races in Mexico passes through this route, so there are very good signs.
Mountain Biking in Hidalgo
HUICHAPAN
La Florida Ecotourism Park
It is located in El Cardonal and is one of the best places to practice mountain biking in Hidalgo.
In addition to offering several trails, it has an incredible natural attraction that is a huge crater 300-meter (984 feet) in diameter that was caused by the impact of a meteorite thousands of years ago. This place is known as "El Estadio" because its shape is very similar to that of a soccer stadium.
Throughout the tours you will be enjoying unbeatable views, it is quite an experience.
Manantiales de Nopala
Located in the town of Dañu this ecotourism center offers mountain bike rental so you can enjoy both the park facilities inside and outside.
There is a wide variety of bicycles for the whole family, as well as several routes in the middle of beautiful natural surroundings.
Other Parks
There are other parks that offer bike trails such as: Parque EcoAlberto and Eco-Maye Parque Ecoturístico.
MINERAL EL CHICO
In Mineral el Chico there are incredible routes for biking lovers that pass through Peña del Cuervo from where you can enjoy a panoramic view, or Cruz de Negro, from where trails begin with descent to reach the town of El Chico.
There is another highly recommended tour that begins at El Cedral Dam and ends at the alpine lodge near a climbing wall known as “Las Ventanas”.
Inside the park you can also explore the Jaramillo Dam and some campsites such as Dos Aguas, Los Conejos and Los Cedros.
PACHUCA
Parque Ecológico Montaña Viviente
The Montaña Viviente Ecological Park offers several routes and biking trails that will take you through magical forested landscapes with waterfalls and streams.
The park also has cabins. It is located an hour and a quarter from Pachuca.
ZIMAPAN
Xi-Dho
It is an adventure and nature park with several trails with viewpoints, waterfalls and lakes.
Banxú Ecotourism Center
It is located near Ixmiquilpan, it has pleasant biking trails such as the path of the cabins and the path of the waterfall.
