Sayula is known for its rich artisan tradition. Its artisans create beautiful pieces of ceramics, textiles, and leather goods, among other items.

However, what really sets it apart is the craftsmanship of artisanal knives, which are almost works of art and have gained international fame. Since the 1970s, the Ojeda family began making knives, first for utilitarian purposes and later creating more elaborate pieces such as machetes, swords, pocket knives, daggers, and cutlery. 

To embellish their creations, they not only use iron and wood  but also incorporate semi-precious stones like lapis lazuli, jade, and turquoise, as well as ivory, animal skins, and even fossils found in the area.

Another product you can take home is a delicious cajeta, as there is a place, Cajetas Lugo, that has a tradition of producing one of the best cajetas since 1880.

In the markets, you can find unique souvenirs made by skilled local artisans.
