The artisanal tradition includes products such as wood carved pieces, pottery, huipiles (a tunic-like garment made by stitching together anywhere from one to five pieces of cloth), rebozos (long flat garment, very similar to a shawl) and leather crafts.

The beautiful embroidery is another important craft in Comitán, as in many other parts of Chiapas. This kind of technique is used in clothing, bags and hats.
