ADVENTURE IN NORTHEAST GUANAJUATO

For nature lovers, this is the ideal place to admire beautiful landscapes, valleys, magnetic zones, rock formations, cave paintings, 17th-century religious architecture, and hacienda buildings.

Special mention should be made of the San José Iturbide Parish, whose construction began in 1866 in a beautiful Neoclassical style. This parish and many other historical buildings, such as El Caracol Square, the Alameda, or the El Diezmo hotel, can be explored by walking or biking through the streets of the town.

Here, you can become an ultralight pilot and enjoy an incomparable view.

Plaza Principal (Main Plaza)

The town has a beautiful tree-lined main square with a typical kiosk in the middle, where you can sit on one of the wrought-iron benches and enjoy the surrounding scenery. On one side of the square, you will find the Municipal Palace.

Parroquia de San José Iturbide

Located in the opposite corner of the main square, it is considered one of the most impressive religious constructions in the country.

Its spacious vestibule with columns evokes the Church of San Pedro in the Vatican. On the facade, you can read the Latin inscription Deo Optimo Maximo Sub Invocat Sante Joseph, which means "To the Great and Supreme God Under the Invocation of Saint Joseph." Deo Optimo Maximo Sub Invocat Sante Joseph que significa “Al Dios Grandioso y Excelso Bajo la Invocación Del Señor San José”.

The building dates back to the second half of the 19th century, and its design was carried out by architect Ramón Ramírez and Arangoiti. The church is also known for its pipe organ, which was acquired from a synagogue in the United States.

Artropodario Zuuehai

If you are interested in or curious about insects, this is a place you can't miss. It has a wide variety of arachnids, crustaceans, centipedes, and millipedes. You can also discover myths, traditions, and realities about these small (and sometimes not so small) creatures. Additionally, there are activities such as conferences, talks, and guided visits.
