GUANAJUATO
La Bufa y Calderones
Near the city of Guanajuato, La Bufa and Calderones are located with numerous sports sectors and blocks for bouldering.
Here are 3 or 4 different ascent routes. The easiest is 3-meter (10 feet) and the most difficult is 20-meter (65 feet).
The level of the routes is for beginners, so you do not require much previous experience.
This place combines climbing with rappelling that reaches up to 60-meter (200 feet) high.
Xumu Park
It is located in the Sierra de Santa Rosa and offers the possibility of climbing both freestyle and bouldering.
In freestyle climbing, you have to climb using your hands and feet as traction in the ascent, using fixed anchors for greater security.
In boulder, you are going to ascend on the relief of the rock to a height of no more than 5-meter (16 feet).
Both options offer instructors and you have to bring the necessary equipment.

IRAPUATO
Garita Canyon
It offers waterfalls and vegetation that combines cacti, biznagas, organs and huizahes, as well as the possibility of practicing rock climbing. It is located in Cuerámaro, 45 minutes from Irapuato.
LEÓN
Cañón del Salto de las Brujas
It is located in the vicinity of León and offers the possibility of climbing from 10-meter (32 feet) to 20-meter (65 feet) high, in addition you can learn about the mining history of the place.
SALAMANCA
Siete Luminarias
You can also climb the Siete Luminarias (Seven Luminaries), a series of volcanic craters located in the Valle de Santiago. Each of them has a unique landscape and offers the possibility of climbing inside the volcanoes.
SAN JOSÉ ITURBIDE
Vergel de Bernalejo
It is located near San Luis de la Paz in the heart of the Sierra Gorda. Los Picachos is one of the best places to climb.
El Salto Vacation Center
This place is located in the municipality of Tierra Blanca, offers a climbing tour through huge rocky walls.
In addition to the walls there are large stones ideal for bouldering.
The tours have a medium level of difficulty.
The center has qualified instructors and offers the rental of all the necessary equipment such as ropes, harness, helmet, etc.
Other options
La Peña Sola located in the municipality of Salamanca and La Cañada del Gigante, located 15 km from León at the foot of Cerro del Gigante.
SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE
Alcocer
Located 10 minutes from San Miguel Allende, it offers 42 routes, many of them short on solid rocks. Jalpa is another option, with a black wall of basalt rock of approximately 25-meter (82 feet). high, which offers 27 sports routes and 11 traditional ones, it is 25 minutes from San Miguel Allende.
It has some cracks and is one of the best options in the region.
