TRADITIONAL TEQUILA HERITAGE
Known as the Cradle of Hidalgo, it is one of the cities with the highest commercial activity in the state. However, its main square still maintains the essence of a tranquil town.
The Sierra de Pénjamo is a Protected Natural Area that extends through the Mexican localities of Pénjamo. It was in this sierra that the insurgent leader Francisco Xavier Mina was executed during the War of Independence.
Pénjamo offers a historic center with colonial architecture in mansions, parishes, temples, as well as various gardens and small squares. It is also where most hotels, restaurants, cafes, and bars are located.
This town has also gained fame for the tequila haciendas located in its surroundings.
