Casa de la Cultura Centro

The most outstanding detail of the building is a mural made by Salvador Almaraz.

En el edificio se estaca un mural que es una obra del Maestro Salvador Almaraz.

It is a place where various cultural activities are carried out, like painting, drawing, music, theater and language workshops.

Fuentes Danzarinas (Dancing Fountains)

Located next to the Cathedral and Miguel Hidalgo Market in Plazuela Miguel Hidalgo.

The fountains have become a meeting place in the middle of a town square. This is a show that combines music, lights, and water jets to create a mesmerizing spectacle.

In recent years the fountains have been part of the stage of the Jazz Festival held every year in the city.

Hacienda Corralejo

Hacienda Corralejo is renowned for quality within the tequila industry itself and equally by enthusiasts. The Hacienda Corralejo was founded in 1755. It was the first commercial producer of Tequila in Mexico. It is located in Pénjamo, the birthplace of Father Miguel Hidalgo, , the iconic leader of Mexico’s fight for independence in 1810.

Its attractions include not only tequila, but also history, culture and learning. This beautiful hacienda offers tours where you can learn more about the production of tequila, in addition to the history of the building. Visitors can satisfy their curiosity and excitement about the processes used to make tequila.

Mural de la Identidad (Identity Mural)

The mural is made with a technique of pre-cast slabs forming mosaics of natural stones and colored tiles.

It is 22.60 m long and 15 m high and is the work of master Salvador Almaraz López.

Palacio Municipal de Irapuato

This space was previously occupied by the Colegio de la Enseñanza, a school for girls.

The construction of this building began in the year 1800.

Plaza de los Fundadores

In this plaza there were several historic buildings. It was part of Colegio de la Enseñanza (College), and they were all demolished.

This space was occupied by the old garden of the College. It was located in one of the biggest convents in the area (Convento de la Compañía de María y Enseñanza). This was a nunnery and was built in the 18th century.

Puente de Guadalupe

It is one of the three bridges built in the urban area of Irapuato over the arm of the Silao River. Its construction began in 1835 to connect this Villa with the road to Salamanca. The bridge was completed in 1837.

In the center there is a medallion of the Virgin of Guadalupe, although originally there were two. It is currently located in the center of a roundabout.
