TEQUILA CIRCUIT
In the southwest of the state of Guanajuato, there are six important tequila distilleries.
You'll be able to travel the route, cross the majestic blue agave fields, learn about the culture of the producing towns, and visit the tequila haciendas.
The tour begins at Tequila Corralejo, famous for its blue bottle, recognized as a symbol of national identity. Near Pénjamo, in Magallanes, there is a place full of charming stone houses and delicious cuisine. It is there where the renowned "Tres Joyas" distilled spirit is produced, with a history of over two hundred years.
Next is Churipitzeo de Pénjamo, where you can witness various musical and equestrian shows. On the way to the Plazuelas archaeological zone, another tequila distillery can be found, which employs more innovative production processes.
Crossing wonderful landscapes surrounded by hills, you arrive at Cuerámaro, at the San Gregorio Hacienda, which includes a museum dedicated to Francisco Xavier Mina, a Spanish military officer who fought in the Mexican War of Independence.
