WINE ROUTE IN AGUASCALIENTES
Aguascalientes has the climatic conditions and ideal altitude for grape cultivation.
That's why since its foundation, it already had plantations that grew in number and size, eventually reaching the second place in grape production in the country. Brandy is the most produced alcoholic beverage in the state.
Although the wine industry in Aguascalientes declined for a while, since 2005 there has been a renewed push for local wine production, resulting in various labels with grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Parrellada, Blanc de Zinfandel, Syrah, Petite Syrah, Mourvedre, Nebbiolo, Garnacha Blanca, Touriga Nacional, and Tempranillo, among others.
Currently, Aguascalientes has 205 hectares of vineyards. There are 10 open wineries and vineyards, as well as complementary attractions that offer a unique tourist experience.
The route includes several vineyards such as Viñedos 4 Soles, Viñedos El Potrerito, Centro de Estudios de la Vid Viña Estación, Viña Las Cruces, Vinícola y Viñedos Hacienda de Letras, Viñedo el Aguaje, Vinícola Santa Elena, Bodegas Origen, Viñedos Casa Leal, and Bodegas de la Parra. All located north of the city of Aguascalientes.
At each of these vineyards, you can stroll through the vineyards and barrel rooms, as well as participate in wine tastings, offering a complete sensory experience. You can also learn more about the winemaking process.
Bodegas de la Parra
It is a boutique winery that offers high-quality organic wines.
They offer tours of the vineyards and cellar, followed by a wine tasting.
Viñedos Casa Leal
A house with a long tradition since 1969. It maintains high standards in wine production.
They offer wine tastings, tours, workshops, and have venues for special events.
Bodegas Origen
It is a winery that combines tradition with cutting-edge techniques.
They offer tours of the vineyards, winery, and barrel room, as well as wine tastings.
Vinícola Santa Elena
A place to have unique experiences and create unforgettable sensations with wines of high standards.

Vinícola y Viñedos Hacienda de Letras
This hacienda dates back to 1854, and its winemaking tradition has over 40 years of history.
It has a fascinating cellar where you can enjoy incredible wine tastings. You can visit the vineyards, taste their wines, and receive an explanation of wine pairing.
They organize various festivals such as the Festival El Vino en Colores, Festival Espuma, Vino Festival 1000 Copas de Vino, and Festival La Vendimia.
Viña Las Cruces
Offers guided tours, wine tastings, and also provides accommodations, camping areas, a restaurant, and venues for social events.
Additionally, you can enjoy activities such as horseback riding, biking, paddle boating, and playing petanque, among other amenities.
Centro de Estudios de la Vid “Viña Estación”
This place develops capacities in grape production, processing, and marketing to reinforce the winemaking tradition of the state.
They offer tours of the facilities and an overview of the winemaking process. Tastings are also available.
Viñedos El Potrerito
This vineyard has excelled in its creations and has been able to create the label "Fumata Blanca," recognized with the silver medal in the Mexico Selección competition by the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2019.
During the tour, you will not only learn more about the vineyards but also hear stories about the legends of the town of Cosió.
At the end, you can enjoy delicious wines and fine cheeses.
Viñedos 4 Soles
This company was founded in 1954 and offers tours of the vineyard, as well as sensory wine tastings that are paired with bread, cheese, and cold cuts.
The place has an incredible viewpoint, ideal for taking a photo.

Hacienda Garabato
This hacienda located in the north of Aguascalientes was founded in the early 18th century and was known as Hacienda de San Isidro de los Garabatos.
It was one of the first haciendas where the breeding of bullfighting bulls began in Mexico. Additionally, the hacienda was also dedicated to agriculture and the breeding of small livestock, especially sheep. Currently, guided tours are available where you can learn more about the history of the place.
Museo de la Insurgencia (Museum of the Insurgency)
This interesting place is located in Hacienda de San Blas in Pabellón de Hidalgo, in the municipality of Rincón de Romos, Aguascalientes. This place is important as it played a significant role in the War of Independence, being part of Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla's route towards the north of the country.
Furthermore, it is part of the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro, which is a World Heritage Site.
Quesería Sutti
Located at Granja Makelisa, it is a family-owned company. Here, you can savor high-quality asadero cheeses and explore the facilities to learn more about the production process.
Quesería Goaty
This cheese factory has preserved family traditions and produces a beverage made with freshly milked goat milk and a mixture of coffee, chocolate, and alcohol called "pajaretes."
Additionally, they have created a variety of products derived from goat milk, such as rompopes, cajetas, sweets, and cheeses.
They offer product tastings, facility tours, as well as delicious prime cuts and kid goat.
Finca Cuatro Caminos
At this estate, nature and bullfighting come together. There are thousands of olive trees of different varieties that serve as the backdrop for a stone-built bullring.
There is also a beautiful lake and an adobe house that displays bull heads and a wide variety of bullfighting posters and photographs.
Here, high-quality olive oil is produced, so you can also learn more about the oil-making process and, of course, taste it.
Hípico Real Cañada Honda
The center offers horseback riding lessons and hosts local and national tournaments. Additionally, they provide horse-assisted business coaching services that aim to develop and strengthen organizational skills.
There are areas for gatherings, chapels, and event halls.
