CHEESE AND WINE ROUTE IN QUERETARO

Querétaro is one of the states that has gained fame for its good wines and cheeses.

Throughout the territory of Querétaro, in the municipalities of El Marqués, Tequisquiapan, Ezequiel Montes, and Colón, you can find several ranches that artisanally produce delicious cheeses of various types, as well as vineyards that produce excellent wines.

There is no established route, but according to each person's tastes and preferences, you can create an itinerary that encompasses not only the experience of tasting the products but also the traditions, customs, recipes, and emotions of each of these places.

When you visit Querétaro, you can take a tour that will take you to several vineyards, where you can taste the delicious wines and cheeses of the region, an unforgettable experience.

Cava Freixenet

Located at the Doña Dolores estate, just 10 minutes from Peña de Bernal, it is one of the most important wineries in America. Freixenet is known for the production of sparkling wines.

Rancho Los Azteca

Located near Peña de Bernal, this project includes not only winemaking but also Mexican traditions such as charrería (rodeo) with the firm intention of promoting Mexican culture.

Viñedos La Redonda

Situated 15 minutes from Tequisquiapan, it offers free tours every day. The tour concludes at the wine cellar, where you can taste and purchase the wines. It is also the venue for the Festival of the 100 Mexican Wines, which brings together over 50 wineries from the country and takes place in the first days of March. Here, you can participate in tastings, food pairings, and guided tours.

Viñedos Los Rosales

Located in Tequisquiapan, they artisanally produce wines under the brand Misiones Chapelet, known for the intense red grape juice that gives the wines their incredible color, depth, and roundness, characteristic of Los Rosales wines.

Vinos del Marqués 

Located in the municipality of El Marqués, this young winery produces wines of very good quality.

Bodegas de Cote

Located in the municipality of Ezequiel Montes at an altitude of 2,020 meters above sea level, its location defines the characteristics of its wines.

Cheese Producers

Quesos Vai

Located between Tequisquiapan and the state capital, this ranch showcases the process of turning milk into cheese. At the end, there is a delicious cheese tasting, including varieties such as chipotle-flavored botanero and provolone. Additionally, visitors can interact with cows, calves, and sheep.

Rancho La Hondonada

Located in the municipality of Colón, near Bernal, this ranch produces organic cheeses, yogurts, and other dairy products under the brand name Flor de Alfalfa. They are known for being healthy and delicious.

Rancho San José María

Produces a wide range of dairy products, from sweet to savory, with highlights such as semi-hard cheese aged in red wine or cheese infused with olive oil and fine herbs.

Rancho Santa Marina

All their products are organic, and they produce delicious cheeses such as feta, ricotta, crottin, pyramid, and chabichou (which is matured for 30 days), among others. There are also other cheeses like aged criollo and wine-aged cheese.

Quesos La Serpentina

Produces cheeses with delicate but intense flavors, as well as various varieties of French goat cheese, including picodon, Sainte-Maure, crottin, among others.

La Quesería Néole

The cheese factory has incorporated the concept of a light restaurant, where you can enjoy tasty dishes combining their cheeses with delicious salads, soups, paninis, bagels, sandwiches, and local table wines.

Quesería del Rebaño
