OTOMÍ VILLAGE WITH COLONIAL CHARM

One of the most beautiful towns in the State of Mexico, Aculco has a mild climate for most of the year; it is surrounded by mountains, cliffs, and waterfalls.

The town has been able to preserve its provincial and colonial atmosphere with a beautiful central square, cobblestone streets, alleyways, and traditional houses with spacious courtyards.

The history of Aculco dates back to the year 1110 when this territory was occupied by the Otomí people; this ethnic group still inhabits the town and has been able to preserve their traditions, such as their colorful clothing with ruffles and embroidery.

Aculco is rich in quarry mines, and its sculptors have given their beautiful pieces an unmistakable character, such as fountains, cobblestones, railings, and crosses.
