COLONIAL ATMOSPHERE AMIDST WOODED LANDSCAPES
It is one of the most beautiful towns in the State of Mexico.
During the colonial era, this village was known as Nuestra Señora de la Peña de Francia. However, over the years, as coal extraction became one of its main activities, it began to be called Villa del Carbón.
In addition to its peaceful and tranquil ambiance, it has been able to preserve the traditional colonial charm in its twisted cobblestone streets, old houses with beautiful tile roofs, balconies, and gable roofs.
This pleasant landscape is complemented by two dams surrounded by wooded landscapes where various activities such as boat rides and fishing can be enjoyed.
It is located an hour and a half away from Mexico City.
