ACULCO

La Concepción waterfalls are located 10 kilometers from Aculco, its waters run over a rocky landscape at a height of 25-meter (82 feet) and it is a challenge to practice rappelling.

MALINALCO

In Malinalco you can explore the Ocuilan Waterfall with a height of 70-meter (230 feet) in the middle of incredible landscapes.

In this impressive volcano you can take walks or tours on the glacier, ice or rock climbing and rappelling.

TEPOTZOTLÁN

Arcos del Sitio Ecotourism Center

The Arcos del Sitio Ecotourism Center is located in Tepotzotlán. The park offers walls up to 12-meter (40 feet) high and a vertical tunnel where you can rappel.

La Marquesa

The park offers two safe and equipped stone options: Las Peñas Barrón, Tepehuisco, Tres Peñas, Las Palmas and Peña Torcida, are ideal for mountaineering, rappelling and hiking. Although you can also practice climbing and rappelling in trees, in the middle of this beautiful wooded landscape.

TONATICO

For those who like to explore, near Tonatico are the impressive Grutas de la Estrella. Here you can have an extreme adventure going down from 25-meter (82 feet) to 30-meter (98 feet) meters high until you reach an underground river called “Zapote”.

You have to be accompanied by a guide and the journey takes from two to four hours.

This tour can only be done from February to June because you cannot do it in the rainy season. In these months you can appreciate a waterfall that flows into the waters of the rivers that run through the cave, the Chontalcoatlán and the San Jerónimo.

Also in Tonatico is the Salto de Tzumpantitlán, a beautiful waterfall with a height of 50-meter (164 feet) that falls to the bottom of a ravine. The rocks in the wall are a challenge for rappelling lovers.

VALLE DE BRAVO

Peñón del Diablo

In the Peñón del Diablo in Temascaltepec, fans of mountaineering, rappelling and paragliding find the ideal place to practice these activities. Nearby is the Brinco del León, another place where you can rappel.

 

Santo Tomás de los Plátanos

It is located just 30 minutes from Valle de Bravo and offers the challenging Barranca del Diablo. The tour is very interesting because it involves some rappelling, but for the most part you will walk among ancient trees among labyrinths formed by volcanic lava millions of years ago. As you go down the vegetation changes until you reach the river that runs below the ravine.

Another of the attractions of the place is that in the highest part of the rocky wall there is a group of cave paintings that show some human and animal figures. It is a difficult place, so we advise you to hire an experienced guide.

In Valle de Bravo area, the Peña del Príncipe offers you various challenges and magnificent views.

Cerro de la Bufa

Cerro de la Bufa, located very close to Villa del Carbón, has a height of 3600 meters above sea level. The hill has climbing routes with different degrees of difficulty and rock walls ranging from 10-meter (32 feet) to 75-meter (246 feet) high.
