AMECAMECA

Zoquiapan National Park

This park is an excellent option to practice mountain biking in the middle of a forested landscape that is framed by the impressive volcanoes of Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl.

EL ORO

This beautiful town surrounded by so many natural wonders offers several options for biking lovers.

The mountain trails and wooded landscapes of Brockman Dam are a great option for mountain biking. There is a route that starts from El Oro downtown and ride in a path in the middle of forest of cedars, pines and oaks, to arrive at the Brockman Dam.

You can enjoy the old road where the railway used to travel, starting in El Oro and ending in the town of Mogote, where a cargo train still runs. On the way you can enjoy the flora and fauna of the region, as well as a suspension bridge and a small waterfall.

If you are in good physical condition, you can venture to another Magical Town in the state of Michoacán, Tlalpujahua. On the way you cross the forest, you arrive at the Brockman Dam and continue along trails until you reach the Señor del Valle viewpoint. Already in Tlalpujahua you can see the Municipal Palace, the Church of Tlacotepec, the Juárez Theater and the Sunken Tower, among many other attractions.

IXTAPAN DE LA SAL

Los Balcones Track is located in the Community of El Carmen. This 7 km path is ideal for Cross Country, and is surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes.

It is located 12 kilometers south of Tenancingo, 32 km from Ixtapan de la Sal, approximately 45 minutes.

MALINALCO

If you are a bike lover, this Magical Town offers a myriad or options for you.

You can ride through some of the Malinalco tourist attractions such as the Barrio de Santa Mónica and learn more about its artisans, as well as the "Callejón del Pozo", the Barrio de Santa María with its beautiful chapel, the museum "Los Bichos de Malinalco" and Malikuali, an ecotourism complex.

If what you want is to explore the surroundings, you can try the mountain trails that surround Malinalco. There are many options for all ages and abilities. On the way you can admire some cave paintings and petroglyphs known as "Las Caritas".

TEOTIHUACÁN

You can explore the Teotihuacán valley, admiring the impressive pyramids and getting to know all the interesting corners that surround them.

There is another option that focuses on exploring the caves that surround the area and learn more about local products such as obsidian and the local liquors.

TOLUCA

Nevado de Toluca National Park

The most beautiful and challenging place is the Nevado de Toluca National Park, which covers an area of 51,000 ha.

At the foot of the volcano is the Parque de los Venados, at the entrance you can follow a long and bumpy dirt road to reach the amazing lagoons at the top of the volcano.

This 18 km route is somewhat demanding due to the continuous ascent; however, you can enjoy the beautiful wooded landscape.

In the Nevado you can make different ascents and routes that go from 4 hours to the 12-hour ring road, ascending its steep peaks, including those of El Fraile, Humboldt, Helprin, the Campanario and the Pico del Águila at 4,518 meters above the sea level.

When covered with snow it becomes a real challenge for bikes. For experience bikers with good physical condition there are routes that connect the Nevado de Toluca with Valle de Bravo.

 

La Marquesa

It is a place for all levels where you can enjoy nature and ride in some of its trails.

Otomi Ceremonial Center

Near the Otomí Ceremonial Center there is a biking route that has an elevation of 2800 meters above sea level, you run from the Toluca highway until you reach the Ceremonial Center.

It is located 44.4 km, approximately an hour and a quarter from Toluca.

Villa Alpina

It is located in the northeast of Mexico City in Naucalpan, and is not one of the most explored places.

It has several routes, both uphill and downhill. There are options for intermediate and advanced with trails and flat valleys, as well as Downhill with beautiful landscapes that include rivers and waterfalls between the hills.

Here you will also have the opportunity to explore natural viewpoints such as El Balcón with an excellent view of the Valley of Mexico, including its two imposing volcanoes, Popocatepetl and Ixtlacihuátl.

It is located 53 km, approximately one hour from Toluca and 48 km, approximately an hour and a quarter from Mexico City.

VALLE DE BRAVO

There are a wide variety of trails amid beautiful forest landscapes in the surroundings of Valle de Bravo. There are options for beginners and advanced bikers.

Additionally, adventure lovers can enjoy motocross through the narrow paths of the mountains that surround Valle de Bravo.

VILLA DEL CARBÓN

In the surroundings of Villa del Carbon you can take beautiful routes through the forests and on the banks of the Molinitos and Taxhimay dams.

It is located 97 km, approximately two hours from Toluca and 68 km from Mexico City.
