VALLE DE BRAVO

Valle de Bravo is a world-famous place for paragliding and hang-gliding. The conditions are perfect, weather is consistent and the surroundings breath taking.

The main site is El Penon, located about 30 minutes from Valle, is the location for all the courses and competitions. This site is located near a radio transmitter, hence its name, La Torre (the tower), and overlooks the village. The landing is in a place called Santa Maria because the nearby church. During the weekend the site is too crowded with tandems so maybe is better to try the second site.

The main paragliding, hangliding, free flying site is “El Peñón” (Big Rock), 14 km straight line from Valle. This place had made Valle de Bravo famous, hosting the PWC (Paragliding World Cup) 6 times. Despite sometimes there are an impressive number of pilots, you can take off without waiting because the takeoff grass area is very wide (a hundred meters). The landing is in place known as the Piano and is 8 times bigger than Santa Maria

Avoid launching between 12:00 and 15:00 PM on sunny days because it gets very windy.

You will always fly with a certified pilot so you do not need instruction or prior knowledge of the flight.

Both the pilot and passenger have comfortable seats called “harness”. The pilot himself controls the speed and altitude of the flight but the passenger is in front to be able to enjoy the landscape.

The adventure can last from 20 to 50 minutes and you have several options to choose from, you can glide through the fresh mountain air or let the instructor performs maneuvers with turns and spirals in the air that will make you scream.
