A BEACH WITH A TASTE OF MEXICO

Divided in two by Cuale River, Puerto Vallarta lies on the edge of the Sierra Madre, right in the middle of Bahía de Banderas (Bay of Flags), the largest natural bay in Mexico, with 100 miles of coastline.

Despite the inevitable transformation into a modern-day city, no effort has been spared to preserve the town’s unique character. Strolling along the narrow cobblestone streets and the traditional plazas, or standing in front of the impressive church and white houses with red tile roofs, you will feel part of both Mexico’s present and past.

Along the Malecón, you can admire the sculptures that have become symbols of the city and treasured landmarks.

But that’s not all. With twenty-five miles of beautiful beaches and soft waves, average temperatures around 68ºF, and 345 sunny days a year, here you will also find many wonderful and exciting shopping opportunities, since Puerto Vallarta is recognized as a center for contemporary and indigenous art.

Puerto Vallarta offers top quality tourist services, beautiful beaches and incredible natural landscapes, which is combined with the kindness and joy of its people, the result is one of the most attractive destinations in the world and the ideal place for visitors of all ages and tastes.

Take one of the 500 flights to Puerto Vallarta each week from the U.S., Canada, and Mexico City. You can also take a bus, or drive. Puerto Vallarta is 1,200 miles from Nogales, Arizona, on the United States-Mexico border, and 220 miles from Guadalajara if you take Federal Highway 15 and then Federal Highway 200 in Compostela, Nayarit. Even better, sail to Puerto Vallarta and dock at one of the modern marinas. At both marinas and La Cruz de Huanacaxtle you can dock your yacht (under 42 feet long). Puerto Vallarta is so popular a destination that it is a port of call for numerous cruises.
