MARIETAS ISLAND NATIONAL PARK
You can visit the Islas Marietas National Park, a group of islands located a few kilometers north of Banderas Bay. The islands have a rich biodiversity. In addition, it has a unique hidden beach that is underneath a crater in the surface of the island, a hole through which you can see turquoise water lapping against golden sand.
To get to this beach you have to swim under an arch of the rocky cliffs that make up the island. On the way to the islands it is not uncommon to see wild dolphins frolicking around the boat and in the winter season it is possible to see a humpback whale. Once on the islands you can swim, snorkel, paddle board or kayak.
CALETAS BEACH
Another option to explore the surroundings is to visit Caletas Beach, which can be reached aboard a catamaran enjoying the panoramic views of Banderas Bay. On the beach you can relax in a hammock, snorkel, kayak, or dive. If you explore the hill you will find a spa that offers relaxing massages, or if you have an exploring spirit you can go into the jungle and discover an interactive parrot center.
