It is one of the most representative plazas in León, also known as the Main Square.

Its name (Martyrs Square) is due to the event that occurred on January 2, 1946 when many citizens lost their lives when confronting the troops of General Bonifacio Salinas for an electoral dispute.

You can walk next to the beautifully manicured trees and in the corridors there are several benches, to enjoy the shade and relaxing atmosphere. In the center of the garden there is an attractive kiosk.

On the edges of the square there are several historic buildings, street performers, banks, hotels, restaurants and stalls offering a wide variety of products.

It is one of the most representative plazas in León, also known as the Main Square.
